Ready to Roll

We have been working on getting Jack to roll for a couple of weeks now. I have several videos of Jack on his stomach having a fit because he can't roll over. He swings his hips back, but his arm always gets in the way. Gabe propped him up today on his elbows and he started rolling over like there was nothing to it! He still can't roll while he is flat on his stomach or from his back to his stomach, but he is starting to figure it out!
He likes being on his stomach now

He's thinking about rolling...
There he goes! I should have cleared the laundry out of the way before taking pictures. Oops!

California Trip

Jack and I took our first road trip together (with the help of Joe) to California. Scott and Joy were having a housewarming party and the only people who couldn't make the trip were Gabe and Danielle. We had a pretty good AZ showing over there. It was nice to see where they live and hang out with everyone. Their house is really nice and the town they live in is really pretty. Jack was a great car companion! He slept in 4 hour stretches and then would wake up to eat and be changed. Joe was a huge help on the drive. He cancelled his flight so he could go with Jack and I and I am so thankful he did! We had quite the adventure in the car on the way home...don't always trust your gps, it might not always give you the "easiest" route to take!!
Our first stop was in Indio...had a hard time finding a gas station and Joe was not a fan of the town

Another backyard view
Aiden always has his hands by his face!
Yep...Jack is still a beast
Aiden would look bigger if he would stretch his legs out like Jack!

Babysitter's

Gabe returned back to work this week on a somewhat modified schedule. Since he doesn't have to be at the field as early as normal he is taking Jack to the babysitter's house in the morning and picking him up on the way home. Jack has adjusted well to his new daytime activities...he even went to the library this morning for Baby Steps. Stephanie says he is really doing well except for the fact that he fights taking a nap (shocker!). This is what Gabe gets to pick up every afternoon while I am still working...it's just not fair!

The End of Daddy Day Care

Gabe has been taking care of Jack since I had to go back to work. He was fortunate enough to have almost a month off with him. I loved having Gabe home (even though I was extremely jealous) because I could go to work knowing Jack was in great hands. I also got alot of really great pictures and videos of Jack. :) The boys had a great time playing, talking, going to breakfast, and going to Costco together. I know Gabe will have a tough time dropping Jack off at the sitters on Monday morning...

Shots :(

Jack had to go in for his 2 month old appointment today and get his shots. Gabe took him which is fine with me...he gets to be the bad guy and I get to be the good guy. :)  Jack was a little trooper after some big tears and ended up falling asleep on the way home. The doctor said he is very healthy and large baby...he weighs 13.5 lbs = 92%, he is 23.5 inches long = 83%, and his head is 41.5 = 86%! If this keeps up I am going to have to get a second job to afford groceries for both Jack and Gabe!

Back to Work

My maternity leave has officially come to an end. I was off for 8 weeks and it was really timed perfectly with our winter break. I went back for the start of the 2nd semester. It was hard leaving Jack the first day, but each day has gotten easier. Ideally, I go to the gym at 4:30 am and get home and get ready by the time Jack starts to wake up. On a good day I can feed him before I have to go to work. :)
Gabe has been the best! He wakes up for Jack's night time feeding which allows me a little more sleep before I have to start my day. About every day I get a video Gabe has taken of Jack smiling which totally makes my day. I love how Gabe gets to spend some quality time with Jack like I got to. He really is a good baby and is fun to hang out with during the day. :)
One of the many pictures I have gotten during the day
Gabe is putting my breast friend to good use. It frees up a hand to text or change the channel.

Goodbye 2010

I am sad to see 2010 come to a close...we had such a life altering year. Gabe took a leap of faith and quit teaching to pursue his job in baseball and we had the addition of our jumbo Jack in November. I'm not going to say this year wasn't stressful, because it was probably one of the most stressful years we have had, but it all paid off in the end. Jack was born healthy and strong (and gigantic) and Gabe got a full time contract with the Mariners.
We celebrated New Years Eve like we always do at the Putz house, and this year's party did not disappoint! We laughed, drank and fortunately got out of there when the dancing started. :)  I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of the night! Ugh! We returned on New Years Day to watch football and laugh about the night before. It was the perfect way to end one year and start another. I am looking forward to what 2011 will bring for my friends and family.
