This is the saddest day of the year...the end of summer break. :( Today starts volleyball tryouts and tomorrow starts meetings at the school with the students coming next week. Tomorrow I have to get back in the swing of taking Jack to the babysitter before school (which will be worse for me than for him) and coming home late after volleyball. It makes me so sad to think there will be days when I don't get to see him except for when he gets up. I have gotten so used to Jack being my partner in crime that I am going to be lonely without him. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to be a stay at home mom. I really don't have the genetics for that, but it will be a hard adjustment going from nothing to work and volleyball at the same time. The good thing about this time of year though is Gabe's schedule will start to slow down at the end of August so he will get some quality time with Jack. :)
I have been so lucky to have been able to stay home with Jack all summer. I got to watch him progress through so many steps that I would have missed out on if he was at the babysitters. He went from rolling over to sitting up to crawling to crawling very fast to pulling himself up on everything! The next big step will be walking! Jack has been such a trooper this summer with me taking him to the gym everyday (he runs the daycare in there now) and going to volleyball open gyms. He is the best shopping partner and is always making me laugh. I am already looking forward to Christmas break when I can be home for a longer period of time with him!
