Big Boy Bath

Jack had his first "real" bath tonight. Normally we lay him on this styrofoam cut out and run the water over him using the shower head. Tonight Gabe filled the bath with water since Jack is getting better at sitting up. He loved splashing in the water!! It was fun to see him play in the bath since this was the first time he has been in standing water. I think he is ready to try the swimming pool next!

Roxy was the lifeguard

This was taken a couple of days ago but it is probably my favorite picture so far. :)

Jack and Roxy

Jack has become very mobile lately. He isn't crawling yet but he rolls all over the place. I put him on the ground and place a toy just out of his reach to try to get him to crawl. (Once he starts crawling I know I will miss the days of him being in one spot on the floor!) Most days I don't even bother putting a blanket out because I know he won't be on it for long. With Jack being on the floor so much I have had to keep an eye on the dogs more than I would have. Leroy is normally too busy napping to care about what Jack is doing but Roxy is very concerned about him. She tries to lay right next to him on the ground but I have to move her because he doesn't want to snuggle with her. She keeps a watchful eye on him and gives him plenty of kisses. These 2 are going to be best buds! :)

She doesn't care how much he kicks her

Love how he is stretched out with his feet on her

Kiss time!

ASU

It's the 3rd official day of summer break and I'm a little bored. Jack doesn't feel great...has a little summer cold so I have to try to occupy our time at home. Today when Jack was fighting taking a nap I decided to hang up his ASU jersey. Our friend Dominic got it for Jack when he was born. (This was a big deal for Dom because he is U of A alumni and bleeds red, white and blue.)  I eventually want to get the jersey framed and put up on the wall but I was tired of looking at empty spaces in Jack's room so I decided to hang it up quickly. As I am looking at the jersey on the wall and Jack is looking at it from his crib I am thinking, how cool would it be if he ended up playing football at ASU. Here he is from 6 months and on staring at his last name on the back of this ASU football jersey! We will have to wait a few years to find out what Jack's destiny is but I didn't think this could hurt. :)

6 Month Old Shots

Jack went to the doctor this morning for his 6 month wellness check and shots. His weight was 22.1 lbs, his height was 28.25 inches, and his head was 46.25. His weight and head size were in the 96th% and his height was in the 95th%. Basically, he is a big boy, but he is very proportionate...He was a trooper for this doctors visit even though he wasn't feeling 100%. He either has a summer cold or allergies because he is a sneezing machine and his nose is constantly running. Poor guy! He took his shots like a big guy...cried while we were in the room but as soon as we got outside he was fine. He fell asleep on the ride home and I thought I would be able to put him down for his nap when we got home but he wasn't having it. He was in a good mood so I pulled out my camera for a photo shoot. :)
Finally got a good shot of the top teeth coming in!

If you look closely you can see the top right fang getting ready to break skin

He wasn't acting like he just got shots!

Sitting up and drooling...

Loves being on his stomach

I don't know why I bother putting the blanket out...he is always rolling off of it.

His bandaids cover his battle wounds from today.

Stomach sleeping

Jack has started to move all over his crib at night. When I wake up and look at the monitor he is always in a different spot. Sometimes I am still looking at his head, other times I am looking at his feet! The biggest obstacle he has overcome lately has been sleeping on his stomach. He used to roll over and cry once he realized he was on his stomach. Now it seems that is how he prefers to sleep. In fact, last night he spent the whole night on his stomach which was amazing. Since Jack is so mobile in bed he has started to wake up with some pretty funny bed head! I am going to have to start breaking out the hair products soon!
When Jack doesn't roll on his stomach he prefers to sleep like this in his crib. Major bed head when he sleeps this way!

Love taking pictures of this guy

6 months old!

I cannot believe Jack is 6 months old today! The time has flown by! He is such a handsome, loving boy and I couldn't ask for anything more! He is on the verge of crawling, loves to "talk" which include squealing and making the fart noise, and can almost sit up unassisted. Last night he pulled another 1st...he slept on his stomach. Normally he rolls over in his crib and starts to cry because he can't get back. This morning at 12:20 I looked at the monitor and almost jumped out of the bed when I saw he was sleeping on his stomach. (Of course I had to go and check to make sure he was ok!) He was sleeping soundly which made me laugh! I'm so glad he figured that out!! As of today, Jack officially has 3 teeth that have come through the skin. His bottom 2 teeth have been out for a while and yesterday his top, middle right tooth finally came through. His top left tooth and top right fang are right on the verge of making their appearance. Poor guy deserves a little break from all of this teething!
I look forward to each and every day I get to spend with Jack and I can't wait for what new "tricks" he will have for me tomorrow! :)

You have to look closely to see his teeth on top

Always has his mouth open ready to shove something in it!

My 1st Mother's Day

I can honestly say I never thought I would be celebrating Mother's Day. I have gotten cards in the past from the dogs, but that was all just for fun. Today I celebrated my first Mother's Day and it was great. I got to open my present on Saturday night because Gabe was excited for me to have it. I got a new Cannon Rebel camera from Gabe, Ceci, and Jack. I was speechless!!! I have never  had a camera this nice, but I also haven't ever had anything so cute to photograph before! I read my owners manual as soon as I got up and started taking pictures. My posts will soon turn into Sandy posts...sorry Kelsey! :)  The day ended with Gabe making us gorgonzola hamburgers (one of my favorite meals). I couldn't ask for a better family. I am so lucky! :)
As a new mother here are some of the things I love:
1. The smiles I get no matter what time in the morning Jack gets up.
2. The belly laughs Jack lets out when Gabe makes him laugh.
3. What a tough guy my Jack is--he already has 5 teeth! (The top 2 and 1 fang broke through this weekend)
4. The way Jack's face lights up when he smiles.
5. The way Jack communicates with everyone. His newest noise is his fart noise.
6. The way Jack loves to jump in his jumper. He can spend all day in that thing!
7. The way Gabe and I work as a team when it comes to Jack.  I couldn't do any of this without him.
I am the messiest feeder...

He loves it though!

All smiles in the jumper
