Floor time

Jack is getting more mobile and is losing interest in his jumper. His favorite thing seems to be sitting, rolling, or crawling around on the ground. It's nice because he can entertain himself for a while, but when the dogs are inside you have to compete with Roxy for Jack's attention. Here's a little visual...

Jack actually has Gabe's nose in his mouth!

He's such a savage!!

Squealing!

He looks so innocent...we know better

Roxy's turn to be tortured

He loves to prop his leg up...he does the same thing in his crib

Father's Day

Gabe celebrated his 1st Father's Day today! The day started off with Jack waking up at 6:20 (he is getting pretty consistent with that time now) and we ate and opened presents. Gabe got a set of solar outdoor lights...I know, not too exciting but he is really hard to buy for and he has wanted these forever! He also got a picture frame with some pictures of he and Jack. After we played we went to the gym and then came home for food and a nap. For some reason Jack only took an hour nap today. Normally he naps for at least 1.5-2 hours in the morning. It kinda worked in our favor because we had plans to go to the Diamondbacks game. After a quick photo shoot in the backyard, and I mean quick (30 seconds), we were off to meet up with Ryan, Katie, Connor, Eric, Alyssa, and Brendan. Kelsey and JJ left us their suite tickets so it was really fun to take all the kids. Alyssa and Brendan were amazed that we had the whole room to ourselves. Jack and Connor were great the whole game as well. We left at the top of the 9th since the Diamondbacks were losing by alot and we weren't going to see our friends play. Jack took another quick nap on the way home and that was it for him! I don't know how this kid didn't sleep all day! Gabe went to meet up with the guys for a bbq and ranger ride which meant I had some leverage so I got another photo shoot in. Gabe complains about taking pictures but it's his fault for getting me such a nice camera! :)
I'm pretty sure Gabe had a great Father's day (I know I did) and I hope all the dads we were with had a great day too!
The look on Gabe's face says it all...

Jack wasn't in the mood to smile because he only slept for an hour!

This is the start of photo shoot #2

Looks like Jack is trying to look tough

We moved inside when Nana Ceci came over to give Gabe his presents

He was so funny--getting excited and squealing!

Swimming

Back at the beginning of June Jack got to experience the swimming pool for the first time. I was anxious to get him in the water because he loves his bath time so much. Our friends Marty and Nicole had a swimming and bbq party so Jack and I were in! After navigating swim diapers (I'm still not sure I had them on the right way) and getting him all lathered up in sunscreen we were ready to hit the water. Lucky for me they had a floaty to put him in so I didn't have to hold him the whole time. Jack absolutely LOVED the pool. He was such a trooper just floating along while we all talked. Jack's favorite part of being in the water was being squirted with the water gun they had. It was hysterical to watch his reaction. Such a fun time and I have to thank Danielle and Nicole for all the great pictures!
Getting used to the water

He loved getting sprayed with the water

I loved how wrinkled his feet were when we got out!

First swim was a success!

7 months old!

Every time I talk about Jack's age it will always start with, "I can't believe Jack is ___ months/years old". I never thought I would be one of those people but time really does fly. I honestly cannot believe Jack is 7 months old!! He is so much fun right now and I am so happy to have the summer to spend with him. We have a little routine down (and for those of you who know me you know how much I love routines!). Jack has been sleeping in until 5:30 consistently but the past week I have seen a couple of 7 am days. I think he is starting to figure this summer schedule out. After he wakes up he eats, rests and digests, and then jumps for a while. After that he comes in the room with me while I get ready for the gym then we get him ready for the gym. When we get home he eats and takes about a 2 hour nap then it's time to eat and play again! He gets tired around 3 and takes another snooze and wakes up ready to play before dinner and a bath. He has started eating more foods too...he now eats pears, avocados, and bananas for breakfast (we are trying some yogurt tomorrow) and at night he has started to eat chicken along with his peas, sweet potatoes, carrots and yellow squash. He is a fantastic eater! There isn't anything he has turned down yet. He definitely doesn't get that from me! I'm a bit of a picky eater when it comes to smell and texture... He now has 5 teeth that have come through and we are waiting for his left fang to break the skin. (It is so close!) I swear this kid will have a full set of teeth by the time he turns 1! Speaking of teeth he has turned into a little biter! I call him a vampire because he has bit me on the collarbone and shoulder several times. Let me tell you, it doesn't feel great... He loves his bath time and I found out not too long ago that he loves being in a pool. Jack is so close to crawling it is crazy! He gets up on all 4's and rocks back and forth but can't get the arm and legs to work together consistently. He is going to get it soon!
I don't know what we did to deserve a boy as wonderful as Jack but I count my blessings everyday!
Rest and digest time

Getting his plyometrics in

Roxy has to supervise

All you have to do to get him to crawl is put the remote in front of him

The remote has so much drool on it!

Once he wakes up from a nap and eats it is floor time

Of course Roxy is there to supervise again...

He gets so excited!

Trying to eat everything...

He's trying!

Looks like he is going to do a modified push up!

The start of the crawl...

He's getting up there...

And he's up!

He's working on moving one leg at a time instead of hopping

Loves his playtime!

Sitting Up

Jack is finally at the stage where he can sit up by himself for long periods of time. He still has his uneasy moments but he is able to correct himself without falling over. This makes play time much more fun! It's nice to be able to plop him down on the floor with a few toys in front of him and still get stuff done around the house. Poor kid was wearing the jumper out!!

Leroy decided to get in on the action. This was going to be a good picture of Jack petting Leroy but Leroy moved at the last minute.
